Guilt
So everyone who's been reading

celticdragonfly's journal knows we've been having a really, really, miserable weekend. This morning I was debating going to work anyway, since there's this meeting I'm supposed to be running. She made it clear she wouldn't let me, and I probably wasn't up to driving anyway. So I went downstairs to email my boss. After that I had a glass of water and went back up to lie down again. Whereupon the water came up. That actually made me feel a lot better emotionally. Before that I'd felt like I was shirking work, but now I was officially entitled to stay home.

I never got into Catholic theology, but my family made sure I had the guilt part down.
